All about the TLFNZ Toy Boxes
While Toy Boxes are primarily for new and struggling toy libraries; some established libraries may like to borrow them as well.
They’re a great idea to have if you would like to increase your toys or membership, or are waiting for a grant to arrive to increase your toy numbers. Any toy rental you earn from their use is kept by your toy library.
What is in a Toy Box?
We currently have 6 preschool sets and 3 sets designed for 4-8 years.
Each Toy Box Set has approximately 30 toys, and comes packed in two large boxes.
Each toy is appropriately packaged
You also receive a set of Family Issue Cards, List of Contents, and a description of the toys within the set.
When can we have them?
We have 2 hire periods each year:
- 20 January – 25 June, and
- 5 July – 10 December
How much do they cost?
A $100 bond needs to be paid before the toy box is sent to your library.
Provided all toys are returned in clean and tidy condition at the end of the hire period, $60 is refunded to you.
If there is a missing piece, the fine is $5, unless it is a crucial piece (meaning the toy can’t really be used without it). In this case we would negotiate a suitable solution.
The remaining $40 is kept by TLFNZ and goes towards freight and handling costs.
