TOY BOX BORROWING

LOAN PERIOD

We have two hire periods each year

q  January to June

q  July to December

WHO CAN BORROW

Any toy library that is a member of TLFNZ is able to make use of this great service. They are particularly useful for new libraries, or libraries that are experiencing an influx of new members, or a little short of funds for purchasing new toys to meet the demand. Maybe you are waiting for grant toys to be purchased or processed.

HOW THE TOY BOX SYSTEM WORKS

Toy boxes are available for 5 months at a time. Subject to demand, this may be able to be extended for an extra three months.

There is a $100.00 bond. At the end of the hire period $75 is refundable to your toy library upon return of the box sets with all toys complete, clean and returned on time.  The $25 TLFNZ retains to help offset the delivery/freight costs.

RETURN OF TOY BOXES

One month before the return date, a letter or email will be sent to your toy library with the return date. . This reminds you it is time to round up the toys; clean them and checked to see that all pieces are there in readiness for return to TLFNZ by the return date.   

HOW MANY TOYS

There are approximately 30 toys in a set – all toys are packaged ready for hire in plastic bags or containers.  A card for each toy and a full contents/description listing is included with each set.

We currently have available for hire:

q  6 toy box sets for infants to 5 years

q  2 toy box sets for 5yrs to 8 years. (2^nd set will be available from Jan 2012)

WHILE YOU HAVE THE TOYS

Any rental or other fees that you charge your members for the toys in the boxes are yours to keep - this helps you generate some revenue for the purchase of new toys, and directly helping your library.
